pillow fight

An article on espn.com called Saturday's football game between Ball State and Eastern Michigan an "epic pillow fight." Can you blame them. Both teams are winless. It's a battle of cupcakes. The article ranked Ball State as the fourth worse football team in the country with Eastern Michigan as sixth. Losing to EMU would doom Parrish and maybe everyone else in the Athletic Department. Ball State can't go 0-12 for that reason. That's why I think Ball State will beat Eastern Michigan with a dramitc score of 24 to 14. Chirp, Chirp!

awkward interviews

Last night I recieved a call from my editor at the Daliy News about the women's tennis coach getting fired. She broke NCAA vilolations to add to the winless Mid-American Conference season that she had last year. It's depressing as another problem has emerged from the athletic department. I interviewed the women's tennis coach last year after thier team lost to Eastern Michigan University 3-4. You could tell that she was tired of losing in her voice alone. Some coaches will resort to breaking the rules when it comes to making a comeback.

This is the women's tennis team. Winning and losing are not as important for a coaches job security in this sport as it is for a more public sport like football. With tennis all the coach has to do is follow the rules and graduate players. A tennis program is not going to define a university. That is for sure.

Athletic mess

Writing for the Ball State Daily News in the sports section I keep seeing the same problem over an over again in the athlectics department. Bad choices. Bad choices on coaches, bad choices on schedules, and bad choices in terms of the big decisions. It seems that Ball State gets it wrong more times than they get it right. Ronny Thompson, and now Stan Parrish are some of the worst moves the athletic department has made. Thompson borught the men's basketball team down in flames while Parrish is doing his best to ruin the momentum of a 12-o season for football season.

Pat Forde on espn.com just wrote a column this week of the half way mark of the college football season where he handed out fictional awards. Forde gave Parrish the award for the coach that should be sent off in a ballon award. That's a joke off of the recent ballon boy hoax. Parrish has made Ball State into a national joke.

Yes sir, our athletic department has issues.
